- Bibliographic Instruction – is an instructional program designed to teach library users how to locate the information using the OPAC, indexes, bibliographic databases, and the preparation of pathfinder.
- Library Instruction – also called bibliographic instruction; user education and library orientation consist of instructional programs designed to teach library users how to locate the information quickly and effectively.
- Library Orientation – is usually conducted every first semester of the school year upon request by the department to familiarize students with the library system, its facilities, resources, and services, what to observe, as well as the schedule of the library.
- Reader's Advisory - A patron-centered service conducted by any of the reference librarians to guide students in finding the right materials for her/his assignment, thesis/dissertation, and other academic-related work
A service that allows reference librarians to refer questions to another level when they do not have the resources to respond to their users’ needs. It ensures that the needs of the users could be met regardless of physical location and to facilitate document delivery.
Using a structured reference interview, the librarian works with the library user to clarify and guide their needs and determine what reference sources will fit them either in print format or online databases.
